Richard Mazzarino

Richard got his start in home building young. At 16 he started as an hourly laborer picking up garbage and keeping job sites clean for Castles and Cottages, one of central Maryland’s premier custom home builders. At only 19 years old Richard took his first shot at developing real estate when he successfully renovated and flipped a dilapidated Baltimore city rowhome he bought for sixteen thousand dollars. Richard continued working his way up the construction ladder for Castles and Cottages throughout his four years at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance. During school he also developed an affinity for commercial real estate interning at Marcus & Millichap. Upon graduation, Richard moved to Houston and created Mazzarino Construction & Development, a boutique real estate development & home building company focused on urban residences in Houston’s inner loop and industrial development throughout the city. Since forming the company in 2006, Richard has built hundreds of homes ranging in price from the high two hundreds to $3m+ and has developed several industrial projects. Outside of the office Richard enjoys traveling with his wife, taking his three dogs to Houston’s dog parks and on walks around the neighborhood, and donating his time and resources to the American Cancer Society, Three Little Pitties Rescue, Paws of War, and the SPCA.
